Thus concludes the one hundred and ninety-fourth chapter of the Ādi Parva of the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Vaivāhika Parva, concerning the episode connected with the arrival of Vedavyāsa. With this, the section is formally closed, and the tale turns onward in the unbroken course of sacred history.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
This line functions as a colophon: it emphasizes orderly transmission of sacred narrative—chapters are formally closed to preserve textual integrity and to mark transitions, underscoring the authority of the tradition associated with Vyāsa.
The narrator signals that the chapter connected with Vedavyāsa’s arrival, situated within the Vaivāhika Parva of the Ādi Parva, has ended; it is a structural marker rather than a new plot event.
