बकवधोत्तर-प्रशमनम् | Post-slaying Stabilization after Baka’s Death

हृष्टो मानुषमांसस्थ महाकायो महाबल: । आध्राय मानुषं गन्धं भगिनीमिदमब्रवीत्‌,मनुष्यका मांस मिलनेकी सम्भावनासे उसे बड़ा हर्ष हुआ। उस महाबली विशालकाय राक्षसने मनुष्यकी गन्ध पाकर अपनी बहिनसे इस प्रकार कहा--

Transliteration

hṛṣṭo mānuṣa-māṁsa-stha mahākāyo mahābalaḥ | āghrāya mānuṣaṁ gandhaṁ bhaginīm idam abravīt ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: Delighted at the prospect of obtaining human flesh, the mighty, huge-bodied rākṣasa, having sniffed the scent of a human, spoke these words to his sister.
