Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure (वरणावत-प्रशंसा तथा पाण्डव-प्रयाणम्)

इदं नागपुर रम्यं ब्रूहि किं करवाणि ते । भीष्मजी! मैं गुणवान्‌ शिष्योंके द्वारा अपने अभीष्टकी सिद्धि चाहता हुआ आपके मनोरथको पूर्ण करनेके लिये पंचालदेशसे कुरुराज्यके भीतर इस रमणीय हस्तिनापुर नगरमें आया हूँ। बताइये

Translation

“This is the fair city of Nāgapura (Hastināpura); tell me, what shall I do for you? O Bhīṣma! Seeking the fulfillment of my own aim through worthy disciples, and to accomplish your desire, I have come from the land of Pañcāla into the Kuru realm, to this delightful city of Hastināpura. Tell me—what task, dear to you, shall I perform?”
