Vāraṇāvata-prasaṃsā and the Pāṇḍavas’ Departure
The youths said: “Revered Brahmin, we bow to you. Such mastery is not found in others. Who are you, and whose son are you? We wish to know. Tell us—what service may we render to you?”
The verse highlights dharmic etiquette: excellence should be met with humility, respectful greeting, and sincere inquiry rather than arrogance or hostility.
After witnessing extraordinary prowess, the young princes respectfully salute the Brahmin-like figure, acknowledge that such skill is rare, ask his identity and lineage, and offer service.
