Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial
नीतिमन्तं महात्मानमादित्यसमतेजसम् । दुराधर्ष क्रियावन्तमतीवाद्भुतदर्शनम्
nītimantaṃ mahātmānam ādityasamatejasam | durādharṣaṃ kriyāvantam atīvādbhuta-darśanam ||
Śakra (Indra) describes the son to be granted as a man of sound policy and righteousness, a great-souled hero whose splendor equals the Sun. He will be unassailable, energetic in action, and of an extraordinarily wondrous appearance—an ideal ruler-type figure marked by ethical discernment, strength, and auspicious excellence.
