Vaiśampāyana said: When she had spoken thus, the king addressed that noble lady again, uttering an excellent statement—one grounded in dharma and spoken by a knower of dharma. The narrative turns toward a morally framed instruction, preparing Kuntī to act under her husband’s command in a way presented as righteous and sanctioned.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Speech and action should be aligned with dharma; the king’s counsel is presented as ethically grounded, emphasizing righteous intention and proper conduct even in sensitive family matters.
After Kuntī speaks, King Pāṇḍu responds again with a dharma-based instruction. This sets up the next step in the story where Kuntī is directed toward a sanctioned means of obtaining offspring.
