भीष्मो बुद्धिमदान्महाां कुलस्यास्य विवृद्धये । साच बुद्धिस्त्वय्यधीना पुत्रि प्रापपय मां तथा
Vaiśampāyana uvāca: bhīṣmo buddhimān mahān kulasyāsya vivṛddhaye | sā ca buddhis tvayy adhīnā putri prāpaya māṃ tathā ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “Bhīṣma, wise and great-souled, has proposed a plan for the increase and continuance of this lineage. But, daughter, the success of that counsel rests in your hands. Therefore, bring me to such a condition—just as Bhīṣma has indicated—so that I may see the fulfillment of what is sought.”
