Linga Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 43

शरभप्रादुर्भावो नाम षण्णवतितमोऽध्यायः (जलन्धरविमर्दनम्)

श्रावयेद्वा यथान्यायं गाणपत्यमवाप्नुयात्

śrāvayedvā yathānyāyaṃ gāṇapatyamavāpnuyāt

Or, if one causes it to be recited according to the proper rite, one attains the state of belonging to Gaṇapati, becoming fit for Śiva’s gaṇa-status through due observance.
