Suta Goswami
It frames Śaṅkara-arcana (including Liṅga-pūjā) as a supreme purificatory act: even mahāpāpa is dissolved when the pashu (individual soul) turns to Pati through sincere worship.
Śiva is implied as the Pati whose grace and presence in worship burns impurity; contact with Śaṅkara through arcana transforms the impure into apāpa (purified), indicating His role as the remover of pasha (bondage).
Śaṅkara-arcana—formal worship (pūjā/arcana) of Shiva, commonly centered on the Liṅga—presented as an effective prayāścitta and a devotional discipline aligned with Shaiva practice.
