tasya cāsīddṛḍharathaḥ śakunistasya cātmajaḥ tasmāt karambhaḥ sambhūto devarāto 'bhavattataḥ
From him was born Dṛḍharatha; his son was Śakuni. From Śakuni arose Karambha, and thereafter Devarāta was born. Thus the royal lineage continued under the unseen governance of Pati (Śiva), while the paśus (souls) move through embodied succession under the bonds of karma (pāśa).

Though genealogical, it frames embodied succession as karmic continuity; Linga worship is the Shaiva means for a pashu to loosen pasha and turn lineage-bound identity toward Pati (Śiva).
Shiva-tattva is implied as Pati—the sovereign witness and regulator of cosmic order—within which births and dynasties unfold without limiting His transcendence.
No explicit rite is stated; the takeaway aligns with Pashupata orientation—use dharmic life and Shiva-upasana (especially Linga-puja) to purify karma that propels repeated births.
