Shloka 56

युगधर्मवर्णनम् — चतुर्युग, गुण, धर्मपाद, तथा वार्तोत्पत्ति

द्वापरे तु प्रवर्तन्ते रागो लोभो मदस् तथा वेदो व्यासैश्चतुर्धा तु व्यस्यते द्वापरादिषु

dvāpare tu pravartante rāgo lobho madas tathā vedo vyāsaiścaturdhā tu vyasyate dvāparādiṣu

But in the Dvāpara age, passion, greed, and pride arise; and in the Dvāpara and the later ages the single Veda is divided into four by the Vyāsas—so that beings bound as paśu may still approach dharma and, through right worship, move toward the Lord (Pati).
