Contentment, nourishment, sacred action, grace (prasāda), and firm establishment—these are indeed the thirty-two auspicious excellences, known together as the “thirty-two-syllabled Śaiva formula,” by which the Pāśu (bound soul) is steadied and turned toward the Pati (the Lord).
Suta Goswami (narrating the teaching tradition within the Linga Purana)
It links Linga-oriented Śaiva practice to a specific mantra-current: the “thirty-two-syllabled” designation that yields inner contentment, spiritual nourishment, right ritual action, divine grace, and stable establishment—key aims of Linga-pūjā and pratiṣṭhā.
Śiva is implied as Pati, the bestower of prasāda (grace) that stabilizes the aspirant; the listed qualities function as signs of His śakti operating in the paśu, loosening pāśa through mantra and disciplined kriyā.
Mantra-japa and mantra-centered kriyā (Śaiva ritual discipline) culminating in pratiṣṭhā—steadfast establishment of devotion and awareness—aligned with Pāśupata-oriented transformation of the bound soul.
