इति श्रीब्रह्माण्डमहापुराणे उत्तरभागे हयग्रीवागस्त्यसंवादे ललितोपाख्याने पुष्परागप्रकारादिभुक्ताकरान्तसप्तकक्षान्तरकथनं नाम त्रयस्त्रिंशो ऽध्यायः अगस्त्य उवाच षोडशावरणं चक्रं किं तद्रुद्राधिदैवतम् / तत्र स्थिताश्च रुद्राः के केन नाम्ना प्रकीर्तिताः
iti śrībrahmāṇḍamahāpurāṇe uttarabhāge hayagrīvāgastyasaṃvāde lalitopākhyāne puṣparāgaprakārādibhuktākarāntasaptakakṣāntarakathanaṃ nāma trayastriṃśo 'dhyāyaḥ agastya uvāca ṣoḍaśāvaraṇaṃ cakraṃ kiṃ tadrudrādhidaivatam / tatra sthitāśca rudrāḥ ke kena nāmnā prakīrtitāḥ
Thus, in the Śrī Brahmāṇḍa Mahāpurāṇa, in the Uttara section, in the dialogue of Hayagrīva and Agastya, within the Lalitā narrative, the thirty-third chapter. Agastya said: “What is that cakra with sixteen enclosures, whose presiding deity is Rudra? And which Rudras abide there, and by what names are they proclaimed?”
