Diti’s Untimely Desire and the Birth-Cause of the Asura Line
Prelude to Hiranyākṣa–Varāha
kaśyapa uvāca kṛta-śokānutāpena sadyaḥ pratyavamarśanāt bhagavaty uru-mānāc ca bhave mayy api cādarāt
The learned Kaśyapa said: Because of your lamentation, your penitence, and your immediate right deliberation—and because of your unwavering faith in Bhagavān and your reverent regard for Lord Śiva and for me—this blessing shall come to pass.
This verse teaches that immediate self-reflection along with genuine remorse, and renewed reverence for Bhagavan, brings auspicious purification and a favorable turn in one’s life.
Diti had acted improperly and later regretted it; Kashyapa reassures her that her sincere remorse, respect for the Lord, and regard for her husband-guru will still lead to auspicious results.
When you make a mistake, reflect quickly, accept responsibility with sincere remorse, and re-align your actions with devotion and respect for dharma—this inner correction invites positive change.
