Bhīṣmadeva’s Passing Away in the Presence of Lord Kṛṣṇa
तदा ते भ्रातर: सर्वे सदश्वै: स्वर्णभूषितै: । अन्वगच्छन् रथैर्विप्रा व्यासधौम्यादयस्तथा ॥ २ ॥
tadā te bhrātaraḥ sarve sadaśvaiḥ svarṇa-bhūṣitaiḥ anvagacchan rathair viprā vyāsa-dhaumyādayas tathā
At that time all his brothers followed him on beautiful chariots drawn by first-class horses decorated with gold ornaments. With them were Vyāsa and ṛṣis like Dhaumya [the learned priest of the Pāṇḍavas] and others.
They went to meet Bhishma as he lay on his bed of arrows, to receive his final instructions on dharma in the presence of Lord Krishna.
Suta Gosvami is narrating how the Pandavas, accompanied by sages like Vyasa and Dhaumya, followed in chariots to the place where Bhishma was lying.
