Garga Muni Names Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma; the Butter-Thief Pastimes; Yaśodā Sees the Universe in Kṛṣṇa’s Mouth
कृष्णो ब्रह्मण आदेशं सत्यं कर्तुं व्रजे विभु: । सहरामो वसंश्चक्रे तेषां प्रीतिं स्वलीलया ॥ ५२ ॥
kṛṣṇo brahmaṇa ādeśaṁ satyaṁ kartuṁ vraje vibhuḥ saha-rāmo vasaṁś cakre teṣāṁ prītiṁ sva-līlayā
Thus, to make Brahmā’s benediction true, the all-powerful Śrī Kṛṣṇa, together with Balarāma, dwelt in Vraja; and by His childhood pastimes He increased the love and transcendental joy of Nanda and all the residents of Vṛndāvana.
Thus end the Bhaktivedanta purports of the Tenth Canto, Eighth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled, “Lord Kṛṣṇa Shows the Universal Form Within His Mouth.”
This verse states that Kṛṣṇa, though fully independent, went to Vraja to make Brahmā’s instruction come true, showing how the Lord upholds cosmic order while performing sweet humanlike pastimes.
According to this verse, Kṛṣṇa stayed in Vraja with Balarāma to please the Vrajavāsīs through His līlā, deepening their loving devotion and nourishing the Vraja-centered pastimes.
Remembering that the Lord brings joy and meaning through divine play, a devotee can cultivate steady bhakti by hearing and reflecting on Kṛṣṇa’s pastimes and serving with a mood of love rather than mere duty.
