Garga Muni Names Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma; the Butter-Thief Pastimes; Yaśodā Sees the Universe in Kṛṣṇa’s Mouth
श्रीशुक उवाच गर्ग: पुरोहितो राजन् यदूनां सुमहातपा: । व्रजं जगाम नन्दस्य वसुदेवप्रचोदित: ॥ १ ॥
śrī-śuka uvāca gargaḥ purohito rājan yadūnāṁ sumahā-tapāḥ vrajaṁ jagāma nandasya vasudeva-pracoditaḥ
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O Mahārāja Parīkṣit, Garga Muni, the priest of the Yadu dynasty and a great ascetic, was inspired by Vasudeva and went to Vraja, to the home of Nanda Mahārāja.
Because Vasudeva urged him to go to Nanda’s Vraja, setting the stage for the children’s naming and related Vedic rites.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating to King Parīkṣit, describing Garga Muni’s journey to Vraja.
