Kṛṣṇa Defeats Bāṇāsura and Receives Śiva’s Prayers
The Śoṇitapura Battle and the Jvara Episode
ततस्तिर्यङ्मुखो नग्नामनिरीक्षन् गदाग्रज: । बाणश्च तावद् विरथश्छिन्नधन्वाविशत् पुरम् ॥ २१ ॥
tatas tiryaṅ-mukho nagnām anirīkṣan gadāgrajaḥ bāṇaś ca tāvad virathaś chinna-dhanvāviśat puram
Lord Gadāgraja turned His face away to avoid seeing the naked woman, and Bāṇāsura—without his chariot and with his bow shattered—seized the chance to flee into his city.
Because Balarāma embodies dharma and self-control; he deliberately avoided looking at a naked woman, showing restraint even amid a battlefield situation.
Bāṇāsura was left without his chariot and had his bow cut; in that weakened state he retreated and entered his fortified city.
Maintain personal discipline and modesty even in stressful environments, and avoid indulgent looking that agitates the mind.
