The Murder of Satrājit and the Recovery of the Syamantaka Jewel
नमस्तस्मै भगवते कृष्णायाद्भुतकर्मणे । अनन्तायादिभूताय कूटस्थायात्मने नम: ॥ १७ ॥
namas tasmai bhagavate kṛṣṇāyādbhuta-karmaṇe anantāyādi-bhūtāya kūṭa-sthāyātmane namaḥ
I offer my obeisances to that Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, whose every deed is amazing. He is the Supreme Soul, the unlimited source and fixed center of all existence.
This verse models bhakti through direct namaskāra—honoring Kṛṣṇa as Bhagavān, the Infinite source of all beings, and the unchanging Supreme Self.
Because His līlās and actions repeatedly transcend ordinary limits—revealing divine power, protection of devotees, and perfect wisdom within human-like pastimes.
It steadies the mind: seeing God as infinite and unchanging helps one face change, fear, and loss with humility, prayer, and consistent devotional practice.
