If mighty Jarāsandha arrives while We two are engaged in battle with Kālayavana, he may kill Our kinsmen or carry them off to his own capital.
In this verse, Kṛṣṇa highlights the urgent danger that Jarāsandha could harm or abduct their relatives if Kṛṣṇa and His ally remain absorbed in combat, showing Kṛṣṇa’s protective concern and strategic foresight.
Kṛṣṇa speaks to redirect the immediate focus from personal combat to safeguarding their people, indicating that the higher dharmic priority is the protection of kinsmen from Jarāsandha’s aggression.
Prioritize responsibilities and protect those dependent on you; don’t let ego-driven “winning” distract from real-world consequences and the wellbeing of family and community.
