The gopīs, beholding His face—ever cheerful, with smiling glances—crossed beyond all distress and, in joy, forgot their weariness.
This verse says the gopīs overcame many kinds of distress simply by gazing upon Kṛṣṇa’s ever-smiling, lovingly glancing face—showing that absorption in Him naturally carries the devotee beyond pain.
Śukadeva highlights that even when Kṛṣṇa is in Mathurā, His Vraja devotees remain completely absorbed in Him; their love is so strong that remembrance of His face becomes their relief and sustenance.
Cultivate steady remembrance of Kṛṣṇa—through darśana, japa, kīrtana, and reading His līlās—so the mind repeatedly returns to Him; this bhakti-centered focus helps one cross over anxiety, grief, and fatigue.
