Kṛṣṇa Slays Kuvalayāpīḍa and Enters Kaṁsa’s Wrestling Arena
एष वै किल देवक्यां जातो नीतश्च गोकुलम् । कालमेतं वसन् गूढो ववृधे नन्दवेश्मनि ॥ २४ ॥
eṣa vai kila devakyāṁ jāto nītaś ca gokulam kālam etaṁ vasan gūḍho vavṛdhe nanda-veśmani
This Śrī Kṛṣṇa was born of Devakī and brought to Gokula; hidden all this time, He has grown up in Nanda’s home.
This verse states that Krishna, though born to Devakī, was taken to Gokula and kept concealed, indicating the divine arrangement to protect Him from Kaṁsa and to manifest His Vraja-līlā in Nanda’s home.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī is narrating that Krishna was born from Devakī but grew up secretly in the house of Nanda at Gokula.
The verse highlights that divine purposes may unfold quietly and protected from hostile forces; devotees can practice steady faith and patience, trusting that dharma and God’s plan mature in the right time.
