The Killing of Keśī and Vyomāsura; Nārada’s Prophetic Praise of Kṛṣṇa
तस्य तत् कर्म विज्ञाय कृष्ण: शरणद: सताम् । गोपान् नयन्तं जग्राह वृकं हरिरिवौजसा ॥ ३० ॥
tasya tat karma vijñāya kṛṣṇaḥ śaraṇa-daḥ satām gopān nayantaṁ jagrāha vṛkaṁ harir ivaujasā
Understanding his deed, Lord Kṛṣṇa, the shelter of saintly devotees, forcefully seized the demon as he was carrying off more cowherd boys—like a lion grabbing a wolf.
This verse describes Kṛṣṇa as śaraṇadaḥ satām—one who gives refuge to the saintly—and shows Him immediately stopping danger by seizing Vṛka who was leading the cowherd boys away.
Vṛka is portrayed here as a wolf-like threat who was taking the cowherd boys away; Kṛṣṇa, understanding his harmful intent, forcefully captured him.
The verse encourages trusting divine protection: when one aligns with dharma and takes sincere shelter of the Lord, fear decreases and one gains strength to confront harmful influences.
