Gopī-Vipralambha: The Search for Kṛṣṇa and the Revelation of Divine Footprints
कस्याञ्चित् स्वभुजं न्यस्य चलन्त्याहापरा ननु । कृष्णोऽहं पश्यत गतिं ललितामिति तन्मना: ॥ १९ ॥
kasyāñcit sva-bhujaṁ nyasya calanty āhāparā nanu kṛṣṇo ’haṁ paśyata gatiṁ lalitām iti tan-manāḥ
One gopī, resting her arm on a friend’s shoulder and fixing her mind on Kṛṣṇa, walked about and declared, “I am Kṛṣṇa! Just see my graceful gait!”
This verse shows the gopīs, overwhelmed by remembrance in separation, naturally imitate Kṛṣṇa’s charming gait—revealing intense absorption (tan-manāḥ) and prema-bhakti.
In the pain of separation while searching for Him, their love becomes so concentrated that they reenact His pastimes and gestures, speaking playfully as if they were Him.
Keep the mind steadily on Kṛṣṇa through remembrance—chanting, hearing His līlās, and adopting devotional habits—so that daily actions become aligned with devotion.
