Sukta 2
क्रव्यादमग्निं प्र हिणोमि दूरं यमराज्ञो गच्छतु रिप्रवाहः । इहायमितरो जातवेदा देवो देवेभ्यो हव्यं वहतु प्रजानन्
kravyā́dam agníṃ prá hiṇomi dūráṃ yamárājño gacchatu ripravāháḥ | ihā́yam ítaro jātávedā devó devébhyo havyáṃ vahatu prajā́nán ||
The flesh-devouring Agni forth do I drive afar: let him, the bearer-off of taint, depart unto King Yama. Here let this other Jātavedas, the God, with knowing mind convey the oblation unto the Gods.
Rishi: Traditionally connected with Atharvanic seers in funerary/purificatory material (specific r̥ṣi attribution varies by anukramaṇī traditions for AV 12.2).
Devata: Agni (as kravyād and as Jātavedas); Yama as destination/jurisdiction.
Chandas: Triṣṭubh-like cadence (as commonly in AV 12.2 passages; metrical classification may vary by pada division).
