Healing & Protection
Hymns for healing diseases, warding off evil spirits, and invoking divine protection for home and family.
4 anuvakas (sections) to explore.
It chiefly focuses on bhaiṣajya (healing) hymns—curing illness and restoring bodily wholeness—while closely pairing these cures with protective, rakṣas- and sorcery-expelling mantras.
They move from consecrated speech and waters that build medhā and release bonds, to removal of blockage and misfortune, then to healing joined with apotropaic expulsion of rakṣas and death-forces, and finally to installing subhūti (auspicious thriving) via waters, plants, and gold-amulets.
They function as ritually empowered media: waters purify and restore, plants ‘sweeten’ and heal the body, and gold serves as a protective amulet—together supporting long life, vitality, and social well-being.
