एवमस्य पुत्रपौत्राननुवर्तते राज्यमपास्तपुरुषदोषम् ॥ कZ_०५.१.५६ ॥
evam asya putrapautrānanuvartate rājyam apāstapuruṣadoṣam
Thus his kingship continues through his sons and grandsons, having removed the personal vices (faults of character) that undermine rule.
Eliminating the ruler’s personal vices (puruṣadoṣa), so the state remains stable across generations.
It frames self-governance as a prerequisite for governing others: disciplined conduct reduces arbitrariness, scandal, and elite factionalism.
