क्रौञ्चो विषाभ्याशे माद्यति ग्लायति जीवं जीवकः म्रियते मत्तकोकिलः चकोरस्याक्षिणी विरज्येते ॥ कZ_०१.२०.०८ ॥
krauñco viṣābhyāśe mādyati glāyati jīvaṃ jīvakaḥ mriyate mattakokilaḥ cakorasyākṣiṇī virajyete
Near poison, the krauñca bird becomes intoxicated and droops; the jīvaṃjīvaka dies; the cuckoo becomes delirious; and the cakora’s eyes lose their color.
As a screening protocol: abnormal animal behavior triggers inspection of food, water, rooms, and ventilation, and prompts restriction of access until cleared.
