तथाप्यतुष्यन्तमन्यस्मिन्पुत्रे दारेषु वा स्निह्यन्तमरण्यायापृच्छेत ॥ कZ_०१.१८.०५ ॥
tathāpy atuṣyantam anyasmin putre dāreṣu vā snihyantam araṇyāya āpṛccheta
Even so, if the father remains displeased—showing affection toward another son or toward his wives—he should take leave to withdraw to the forest (i.e., remove himself from court).
It lowers immediate threat, reduces the chance of being framed in palace conspiracies, and avoids forcing a succession showdown prematurely.
