कुमारो हि विक्रमभयान्मां पितावरुणद्धि इति ज्ञात्वा तमेवाङ्के कुर्यात् ॥ कZ_०१.१७.१० ॥
kumāro hi vikramabhayān māṃ pitā varuṇaddhi iti jñātvā tam evāṅke kuryāt
For the prince, knowing ‘My father restrains me out of fear of my prowess,’ would then keep that very resentment close to his person (i.e., nurse it at his bosom).
Overtly restraining a capable heir can create a durable grievance narrative (“father fears me”), increasing future rebellion risk.
