Where the ground is advantageous both for holding position (sthāna) and for rapid movement/charge (prajāva) for one’s formation, one would win in both ways—by standing and by advancing. In the reverse case, one loses; but if both sides are equal in position and mobility, victory depends on both (i.e., on how position and movement are executed).
Sthāna is positional advantage (defensibility, stability, fields of control); prajāva is mobility/impulse advantage (ability to surge, flank, or exploit).
