अस्मप्रतिपत्तौ तु साक्षिणः प्रमाणं प्रात्ययिकाः शुचयोऽनुमता वा त्रयोऽवरार्ध्याः ॥ कZ_०३.११.२६ ॥
asmapratipattau tu sākṣiṇaḥ pramāṇaṃ prātyayikāḥ śucayo'numatā vā trayo'varārdhyāḥ
When there is no mutual acknowledgment, witnesses are the proof: they must be reliable and pure (credible), or otherwise acceptable; at minimum three (of the lower/ordinary class) are required.
It raises the evidentiary threshold—credible witnesses and a minimum number—reducing false claims where parties do not admit liability.
