If a courtesan has absconded or died, her daughter or sister shall maintain the household; or the mother shall appoint a secondary courtesan (to sustain the establishment).
Continuity: the courtesan household is treated as an economic unit whose obligations and revenue flows must not collapse due to exit (flight/death).
It provides an institutional substitute to keep operations running when direct heirs cannot or will not maintain the establishment.
