अभ्युद्धार्यं बदराम्ले लवणोदके वा सादयन्ति । इति पेटकः ॥ कZ_०२.१४.३३ ॥
abhyuddhāryaṃ badarāmle lavaṇodake vā sādayanti | iti peṭakaḥ
‘Abhyuddhārya’ (a separable/adulterant component) is made to settle down in jujube-sour solution or in salt-water—thus (is the method called) peṭaka.
To standardize detection/removal of adulterants so the state can prevent fraud, protect revenue, and enforce uniform quality in taxed/regulated commodities.
They are low-cost, repeatable media that enable predictable separation/settling—useful for routine inspections in state workshops and markets.
