Doubt arises whether taking the territory of a powerful neighboring feudatory is beneficial (artha) or actually harmful (anartha).
It can provoke coalitions, trigger prolonged resistance, raise garrison costs, and create administrative overstretch despite immediate gains.
Avoid ‘victory that breeds vulnerability’; evaluate sustainability of conquest, not only capture.
