kṣīṇa-kṛṇa-kāṣṭhodakam asaṃskṛta-durgam amitraṃ vāsantikaṃ cāsya sasyaṃ vārṣikīṃ ca muṣṭim upahantuṃ jyeṣṭhāmūlīyāṃ yātrāṃ yāyāt
He should set out on a Jyeṣṭhāmūlīya expedition to strike an enemy who is short of fodder/grain, firewood, and water, whose forts are not prepared, and to damage his spring crop and his monsoon crop at the ‘handful’ (early) stage.
