This verse exemplifies how the Purāṇa maps cosmic order through successive births, linking creation (sarga) to the unfolding of dharma-bearing lineages.
He presents a concise chain of descent—father to son—using formulaic birth-statements (“from him was born...”), a standard Purāṇic method for preserving dynastic memory.
Even when Vishnu is not named in the verse, the genealogical flow belongs to the Vishnu-centered cosmology where creation and continuity ultimately rest on the Supreme Reality sustaining the world-process.
