If a liberated renunciant were to abandon the ‘mādhukara’ (alms-gathering) mother—(namely) that which gives rise to dispassion, whose spouse is faith, and whose child is knowledge—he should not (do so).

Sannyāsa-dharma; Vairāgya; Śraddhā; Jñāna as means to MokṣaMahavakya: Indirect: supports the discipline (sādhana-catuṣṭaya—especially vairāgya and śraddhā) that culminates in mahāvākya-realization such as ‘tat tvam asi’.YajurKṛṣṇa-Yajurveda (often transmitted with Maitrāyaṇī/Maitrāyaṇīya tradition; text also circulates in later Vedānta-upaniṣad anthologies) ShakhaChandas: Anuṣṭubh (śloka)
