Akshi

पदार्थप्रविभागज्ञः कार्याकार्यविनिर्णयम् । जानात्यधिगतश्चान्यो गृहं गृहपतिर्यथा ॥ मदाभिमानमात्सर्यलोभमोहातिशायिताम् । बहिरप्यास्थितामीषत् त्यजत्यहिरिव त्वचम् ॥ इत्थंभूतमतिः शास्त्रगुरुसज्जनसेवया । सरहस्यमशेषेण यथावदधिगच्छति ॥

पदार्थ-प्रविभाग-ज्ञः । कार्य-अकार्य-विनिर्णयम् । जानाति । अधिगतः । च । अन्यः । गृहम् । गृहपतिः । यथा ॥ मद-अभिमान-मात्सर्य-लोभ-मोह-अतिशायिताम् । बहिः । अपि । आस्थिताम् । ईषत् । त्यजति । अहिः । इव । त्वचम् ॥ इत्थम्-भूत-मतिः । शास्त्र-गुरु-सज्जन-सेवया । स-रहस्यम् । अशेषेण । यथा-वत् । अधिगच्छति ॥

padārthapravibhāgajñaḥ kāryākāryavinirṇayam | jānāty adhigataścānyo gṛhaṃ gṛhapatiḥ yathā || madābhimānamātsaryalobhamohātiśāyitām | bahir apy āsthitām īṣat tyajaty ahir iva tvacam || itthaṃbhūtamatiḥ śāstragurusajjanasevayā | sarahasyam aśeṣeṇa yathāvad adhigacchati ||

Wer die Einteilung der Kategorien (padārtha-vibhāga) kennt, versteht die Entscheidung darüber, was zu tun und was zu lassen ist, wie ein Hausherr, der sein Hauswesen gemeistert hat. Er legt nach und nach Stolz, Ichverhaftung, Neid, Gier und übermäßige Verblendung ab—selbst wenn sie äußerlich noch ein wenig fortbestehen—wie eine Schlange ihre Haut abstreift. In solcher Gesinnung erfasst er durch Dienst an Schrift, Lehrer und den Guten die Lehre samt ihrem inneren Geheimnis richtig und vollständig.

One who knows the classification of categories (padārtha-vibhāga) understands the discernment of what ought and ought not to be done, like a householder who has mastered his household. He gradually abandons pride, egoism, envy, greed, and excessive delusion—even when they still remain outwardly—like a snake (casting off) its skin. With such a disposition, through service to scripture, the teacher, and the good, he properly comprehends the teaching together with its inner purport, completely.
