Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Sthala Purana: Political-theological motif: Rudra’s gaṇas/Rudras establish Śiva-favoured rulers in key regions, implying dharmic stability under Śiva’s oversight.
Significance: Frames righteous kingship as sustained by Śiva’s grace; encourages devotees to see social order (sthiti) as under divine governance.
Role: nurturing
It presents Śiva (as Pati) sustaining worldly order by empowering “Śiva-beloved” rulers through the Rudras, implying that devotion and dharma in leadership are instruments for harmony and spiritual upliftment.
Calling the rulers “Śiva-vallabha” points to Saguna Śiva’s grace operating within history—those aligned with Śiva through worship (including Liṅga-bhakti) become fit channels for dharmic protection and social stability.
A practical takeaway is to cultivate Śiva-anugraha through daily Panchākṣarī japa (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) and simple Liṅga-pūjā, aligning one’s actions with dharma so that authority (outer or inner) becomes “Śiva-favoured.”
