पार्थिवार्चाविधिः | Pārthivārcā-vidhi
Procedure for the Earthen Liṅga Worship
Brahma
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadashiva
Significance: General: underscores Śiva’s transcendence beyond pramāṇa and śāstra—prompting humility and reliance on revelation and grace rather than mere intellectual grasp.
Type: stotra
Role: teaching
The verse teaches Śiva’s transcendence (Pati-tattva): even scripture and learned sages cannot fully circumscribe Him, so liberation arises through humility, grace, and devotion rather than mere conceptual knowledge.
Because Mahāśiva is ultimately beyond full description, the Śiva-liṅga functions as a compassionate, accessible support (saguna-upāsanā) through which the devotee approaches the indescribable Reality.
Adopt a surrender-based practice: steady japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) with inner reverence, letting scriptural study culminate in devotion and contemplation of Śiva’s boundless nature.
