दर्भाग्नौ वा दहेत्काष्ठं शिवमंत्रं समुच्चरन् । सम्यक्संशोध्य वस्त्रेण नवकुंभे निधापयेत्
darbhāgnau vā dahetkāṣṭhaṃ śivamaṃtraṃ samuccaran | samyaksaṃśodhya vastreṇa navakuṃbhe nidhāpayet
Oder man entzünde das Feuer mit darbha-Gras und verbrenne das Holz, während man Śivas Mantra rezitiert. Danach soll man es gründlich reinigen und durch ein Tuch sieben und es in einen neuen Wasserkrug legen.
