Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Umāpati
Significance: Introduces tithi-specific upāsanā (Caturthī) for pāpa-kṣaya and phala-siddhi; in Śaiva praxis, Gaṇapati-pūjā is a prerequisite (vighna-śānti) before Śiva worship and vrata observances.
Type: stotra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: nurturing
Offering: naivedya
It teaches the Shaiva principle that karmic results mature in an orderly way and that purification (pāpa-kṣaya) happens gradually; disciplined worship supports inner cleansing and readiness for Shiva’s grace.
By prescribing Mahāgaṇapati worship, it aligns with the Shaiva practice of removing obstacles before Saguna Shiva-upāsanā (including Liṅga-pūjā), so devotion and ritual proceed without hindrance and yield proper fruits.
Perform Mahāgaṇapati pūjā on Kṛṣṇa-pakṣa Caturthī as a vrata/observance, with devotional offerings and prayer for obstacle-removal and gradual purification of karmic impurities.
