Śiva-Pūjākramaḥ — The Procedural Order of Shiva Worship
Pañcāvaraṇa & Upacāras
Suta Goswami
It teaches that unwavering truthfulness (satya) and annual, wholehearted worship of the Guru are powerful Shaiva disciplines that yield both worldly well-being and the highest end—attainment of Śivaloka through grace and right conduct.
In Shaiva tradition, the Guru transmits the correct way to worship Saguna Śiva—often through Linga-upāsanā, mantra, and discipline—so honoring the Guru safeguards authentic practice and prevents ‘vikṛti’ (distortion) in devotion and doctrine.
Perform annual Guru-ārādhanā—offer reverence, service, and truthful vows; renew one’s commitments to mantra-japa and Shaiva observances as taught by the Guru, with satya as the core restraint.
