It teaches that Śaiva worship begins with inner and outer purification—bathing, mental restraint, and orderly preparation—so the devotee becomes fit (adhikārī) to receive Śiva’s grace without distraction or obstruction.
Before approaching Saguna Śiva in pūjā (including liṅga worship), the tradition honors Vighneśa—chief among Śiva’s Gaṇas—so obstacles to devotion and ritual correctness are pacified, allowing the main Śiva-upāsanā to proceed steadily.
Perform midday स्नान, gather standard pūjā items (gandha, puṣpa, akṣata), and invoke/worship Vighneśa in the south‑west using the “gaṇānāṃ tva…” mantra, maintaining a collected, restrained mind throughout.
