It teaches that Shaiva renunciation is not mere withdrawal but a purified life that integrates dharmic duties—especially śrāddha and offerings to cosmic deities—so the aspirant becomes fit for Shiva’s grace and liberation.
By framing these rites as part of Shiva’s own discipline, the verse links ritual purity and ancestral obligations to Saguna Shiva devotion—supporting Linga worship as a path where outer duty and inner surrender are harmonized.
It points to performing śrāddha (including pārvana śrāddha and rites for the maternal line) with reverence; as a Shaiva complement, one may maintain purity, recite the Panchakshara (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and offer worship with a disciplined, renunciatory attitude.
