कुम्भकर्णोपदेशः
Kumbhakarna’s Counsel and War-Boast to Ravana
अनभिज्ञायशास्त्रार्थान् पुरुषाःपशुबुद्धयः ।प्रागल्भ्याद्वक्तुमिच्छन्तिमन्त्रेष्वभ्यन्तरीकृताः ।।6.63.14।।
anabhijñāya śāstrārthān puruṣāḥ paśubuddhayaḥ |
prāgalbhyād vaktum icchanti mantreṣv abhyantarīkṛtāḥ || 6.63.14 ||
Menschen mit tierischem Verstand, die den Sinn der Śāstras nicht kennen, wollen, sobald sie in die Ratsversammlung aufgenommen sind, aus bloßer Anmaßung reden.
"People whose intelligence level is no better than animals, who have been included to express their views, who do not know the meaning of shastras express their views out of impudence."
Dharma in deliberation requires adhikāra (fitness/qualification): counsel should come from the competent, not from the presumptuous and uninformed.
Kumbhakarṇa criticizes unqualified participants in political councils who speak without understanding scripture or policy.
Intellectual humility and the need for qualified speech in governance.
