विभीषणागमनम्
Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
इत्युक्त्वापरुषंवाक्यंरावणंरावणानुजः ।आजगाममुहूर्तेनयत्ररामस्सलक्ष्मणः ।।6.17.1।।
ityuktvā paruṣaṃ vākyaṃ rāvaṇaṃ rāvaṇānujaḥ | ājagāma muhūrtena yatra rāmas salakṣmaṇaḥ ||
Nachdem er Rāvaṇa schroffe Worte gesagt hatte, kam sein jüngerer Bruder Vibhīṣaṇa in einem Augenblick an den Ort, wo Rāma mit Lakṣmaṇa war.
Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
The term 'Ravananujah' literally means 'Ravana's younger brother,' referring to Vibhishana, who chose righteousness over family loyalty to the wicked.
Vibhishana spoke harsh truths to Ravana regarding his adharmic actions. When Ravana rejected this counsel, Vibhishana realized that adhering to Dharma required him to leave his brother.
