Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
Ravananuja refers to Vibhishana, the younger brother of Ravana, who chose the path of Dharma over family loyalty to the unrighteous.
The harsh words signify Vibhishana's final attempt to speak the bitter truth to Ravana regarding his adharma, marking the severance of their relationship before he sought refuge with Rama.
