Ravana’s Funeral Rites and the Ethics of Post-War Conduct
साहंबन्धुजनैर्हीनाहीनानाथेन च त्वया ।।।।विहीनाकामभोगैश्चशोचिष्येशाश्वतीस्समाः ।
sāhaṃ bandhujanair hīnā hīnānāthena ca tvayā | vihīnā kāmabhogaiś ca śociṣye śāśvatīḥ samāḥ ||
Ich, der Verwandten beraubt und auch deiner beraubt—mein Herr und Beschützer—und zudem aller Genüsse entkleidet, werde lange, endlose Jahre trauern.
"Disconnected with relatives, forsaken by you also, deprived of sensual pleasures, I shall grieve permanently."
